Kids gone. Early spring dinner in the backyard. Dog patrolling the premises, hoping for a reward for her efforts. Menu: grilled ribeye steaks from grass-fed Berry cows, marinated in lemon and basil; winter squash souffle with a tinge of curry seasoning; baby turnips I pulled from the garden, tossed in olive oil and roasted with their green tops still attached.
